Chainsaw Operator Course

The WMBC and WCC needs people who are willing to help clear deadfall from the Walden Trails. They are offering a 1/2-day chain saw operator training course Apr 10, 9 am to 2 pm.  The course is given by a certified instructor and will cover Maintenance, Safe Saw Handling as well as Cutting Techniques.

The course is free if you are willing to help with maintenance of the bike and ski trails in Walden.

What to bring:

  • PPE (helmet, face shield, safety glasses, ear muffs/hearing protection, chaps, gloves and cut-resistant boots)

  • Chain Saw

  • Chain sharpening tools sized for your saw (round file, flat file and drop-center depth gauge

  • Owner's manual for your saw

  • Cardboard to place under your saw during the maintenance session

  • Clothes for working outside

  • Lunch

If you don't have a saw or other equipment, we have 3 saws to share and three sets of some of the required PPE (helmet, face shield, ear muffs, chaps)
