With provincial health regulations limiting outside gatherings to 5 people until June 14, the 1st Bush Pig Open Race in 2021 is going virtual!
From Saturday, June 5th to Friday, June 11th, come out and challenge yourself to a course marked out on the single tracks at Walden.
The Outside Store is sponsoring the race series again this year.
How do I participate?
Register for the 1, 2, or 3 lap race using the button
You can only compete in one event
Start an activity and complete your laps any time between Saturday June 5th, 7 am and Friday June 11th, 8 pm.
Send in the result of your activity using one of the 4 Options

Option 1 - Easiest - Record the activity using Strava on your phone or a wear-able linked to your Strava account - A segment has been created for the 1, 2 and 3-Lap Events (Search for 2021 June Bush Pig). You don’t need to email in anything
Option 2 - Record the activity on a wear-able (Fitbit, Garmin, etc) and or a phone running the Trailforks App & email in screen shots of your activity Time, Distance and Map.
Option 3 - Record the activity on some GPS device. Email in your Time, Distance and track file (.gpx, .kml, etc).
Option 4 - For families with kids registered for the 1-Lap race, parents can use a stop watch to time their kid’s lap. Email in their Name, Time & Distance.
What is the Cost?
Registration is free and includes a marked race course and posted results
Where is the Race Course?
The events will be held at the Walden Trails at 1 Denis Ave, Naughton, ON
The course will be mark with large white signs with black arrows on Thursday, Jun 3rd and for the duration of the event.
The course is a recreational-level course on the lower trails
The course map is published on Trailforks and segments for the 1, 2 and 3-Lap events have been created in Strava (2021 Bush Pig Open June)
What is the Race Format?
There are 1, 2 and 3-Lap events. Register for the number of laps you are going to race.
Go and race your course as many times as you want to between June 5th, 7 am and June 11th, 8 pm.
If you use Strava, you don’t need to send in anything. We will use the fastest time recorded segment time for the event you registered for.

Where do I see the Results?
Results will be complied and posted on June 12 and published on the Club website.
How do I make this feel like a Real Race?
If you have a race plate from last year, strap it on your bike to help create the race vibe.
