Trail Closeout Complete
The trail close out work is done so there will be no close out work parties on Oct 25/26. Thanks to those that lent a hand!. For those that still want to help out, there will be work parties organized to cut the new trail south of Pacemaker. Stay tuned for more.
Naughton Trails to Close to Cycling 15 October 2014
The weather has been very wet this fall and trail conditions are wet and muddy. WMBC will begin the process of closing the venue to cycling 15 Oct 2014. The bridges and signs will be taken down for the winter and the club will post trail closure signs at the trailheads. WMBC hopes that trail users enjoyed the summer riding season. We will be working on a new trail for next season that will link Pacemaker to Dropout / Paul's Paper Trail. The trail will follow a smooth rocky ridge with some sugar bush forest mixed in. It will appeal to all riders and will be blue on the IMBA trail map scale...we hope to have the trail open for the riding season next spring!!!! Please stay tuned as we will be organising some work parties to get this trail done.
New Trail Map
The riding season is winding down (or is that Washing Away?), but a revised trail map is on our Maps page. It shows the new Misouri-Guerin trail that brings you back from the east end. Click here to download the latest.

Thanks for the great photos Shannon! They really capture the mood of the event.
President's Message---Congratulations Everyone !!!
I just wanted to congratulate all of our WMBC members who have worked so very hard on all of the big events we have hosted. This last Canada Cup has marked the end of a five year process for us that saw us form WMBC in order to host the Ontario Summer Games in 2010. There were so many people that worked on the frontline and behind the scenes to start the club, build the trails and give mountain biking a home in Sudbury. During this entire process we formed some great relationships with may groups and business partners that helped us to put the puzzle together a little bit at a time. We also learned how to build trails the right way, learned how to ride our bikes...and many of us became good friends...A few of us got really fast...and WolfPak Racing was born...WMBC and the WolfPak have now become one of the most beloved and respected bike clubs in Ontario because of our dedication to the sport and our infectious fun loving attitude towards others. The cycling world took notice and we were given the opportunity to host the Ontario Cup and Canada Cup events 2012-1014. I am so proud of the work that went into the events and how they turned out. An official from the USA mentioned to me that he has been all over the world at racing events. He said that we created a cycling family atmosphere that he has never seen before....Riders from different clubs riding and hanging out together after the pre-ride...which is rare...He added that the Saturday pre-ride was like a huge family reunion and felt privileged to be part of it. He also added that he could not believe the volunteer and community support for the event...I hope that everyone who came out to help, race or watch the events feels really proud of what we accomplished...this was truly a celebration of cycling and amateur sport...Everyone commented how nice our city is and how well they were treated...Congratulations everyone and thank you...I also wanted to thank Glenn Meeuwisse from Pulse Racing, Sean Ruppel from Superfly Racing and Chris Gore from Greater Sudbury for believing in us and putting their trust in us to get the venue ready and organize the volunteers....Thank you to all of our sponsors and corporate partners...there are so many to mention...your support has helped WMBC grow and evolve...we could not have done this without you...And finally thank you to those who have become members or have dropped a twoonie or two in the donation box....you are the reason we work so hard :)
We are pleased to announce that our Sudbury Fitness Challenge event will return in 2015...we are still deciding what format it will take and some cool ideas are being considered...We hope you enjoy the summer on the trails.
