We've had to cancel the clinic as we did not get enough people to register. The Instructor needs a minimum number of students to be effecting in teaching the material. Six is the bare minimum and 8 is better. One of the objectives is to have the students learn how to instruct a group, so you need a group...   We will set one up for the spring.

The Club and Sessions Ride Co. have arranged for OCA to deliver the first level instructor training for Mountain Biking - Oct 14/15

Registration: Will be On-line as the OCA site

Cost:  $130 - For Club members, you need to register on-line and pay, but the registration fee will be reimbursed - Contact Rusty Hopper to arrange for reimbursment.

Bring: Bike, Helmet & all riding cloths, lunch, snacks, notebook & pen

Day 1: In-Class session

Day 2: Basic Cycling Skills on-bike session.  Participants must bring a bicycle [MTB/BMX preferred] in good working condition and helmet.  Be prepared for the elements as we will be outdoors.

*The days may be switched if weather is anticipated to be better on Saturday.  This will be communicated well in advance.

Course Description

Let’s Ride! Community Cycling- Initiation (CCI) is the NCCP context for coaches who will primarily work with novice, pre-competitive cyclists at the community level, including participants in the Active Start, FUNdamentals and early Learn to Train stages of athlete development. The program is simple, based on a number of pre-designed lesson plans, and adaptable to the varying skill and ability levels of participants. The focus of the program is on having participants develop skills which are basic to MTB, BMX, and Road, in a controlled, off-road, off-trail setting such as a sport field or parking lot
